Top Make-Up Tips for the Warmer Weather!

In celebration of the sun showing it's face in Ireland, (briefly!) I thought I 'd share some of my favourite makeup tips for the sunny weather.

1) Less is more!

There's nothing worse than having a full face of makeup on and then the weather decides to be all nice, leaving you feeling like the makeup is running off your face! My tip is to be prepared. If your like me and despise the thought of going complete bare-face, (let alone bare skin elsewhere!) try a tinted moisturiser or BB Cream to even out your  skin as well as protecting it from the sun. BB Creams have all the magic ingredients to protect you skin from moisturising burnt tomato faces to preventing them in the first place with a reasonably good SPF. How could you go wrong! :-) My favourite tinted moisturiser would have to be Laura Mercier's one below and the Smashbox's BB Cream raved about by various beauty gurus. Love them.

2) Lock it- Setting Sprays!

One thing that BUGS me about the summer months, (if we get one!;-)) is that whenever I put anything on my face its gone within the hour. The heat seems to melt whatever I put on completely off! So, through the years I've found that setting sprays/finishing mists lock the makeup on without leaving you with the 'cake-face'  or the feeling where you're like, !WOW I'M WEARING A LOT OF MAKEUP. They act as a skin refresher also, so when you're in need of a little freshen up just spritz all over your face. Instantly refreshed and not a hot mess. My favourites are the MAC Fix + or the Urban Decay All-Nighter Spray. Unreal!

3) Goes Without Saying- Moisturise, Moisturise.......and you guessed it Moisturise!

When your skin is exposed to heat, we all know it ladies, moisturiser is key. This is a product that is personal preference but it is crucial. As well as your face, your body if exposed also needs to replace the moisture lost due to the heat. Body Butters and After Sun lotions are the best I find for restoring moisture on the body, Burts Bees Lip Balms for the lips. This also goes for your hair and scalp- use the conditioner ladies! For the face, I always change up. My favourites would be any of the following: Lush's Enzymion, Embryoloisse Lait Crème Concentrate or Estee Lauder's Hydrationist. Boring, but you'll thank me when your tan is nice and smooth.... not coating! ;-)

(my favourite flavour!! :-))

These are some of my beauty-secrets, what are yours???!!!!! <3
